Anaheim AngelsWhen the Angels signed Vladimir Guerrero a year ago and moved Garret Anderson to center field to allow Jose Guillen to take over left, many pundits were projecting it to be the best outfield in the American League, if not all of baseball.Guillen had a superb offensive year, but his defense -- aside from a cannon of a throwing arm -- was lackluster and his temper tantrums were one too many. He was suspended for actions detrimental to the team right before the Angels made their final playoff push and traded in the offseason. Guerrero, of course, was vintage Guerrero, taking the team on his shoulders through a scintillating homestretch and earning AL Most Valuable Player honors for his efforts. |
